Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a School Nurse - Public Health Specialist. As a key member of our Public Health Nursing team, you will play a vital role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme to children and young people in Leicester City.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and agile team, providing face-to-face clinical services in schools, as well as office and home-based working. You will be responsible for delivering effective healthcare services, supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, and promoting healthy lifestyles to reduce the likelihood of ill health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive health assessments for identified children and young people
  • Support the development and delivery of health promotion programs to prevent ill health and reduce health inequalities
  • Work closely with schools, families, and communities to identify and address health needs
  • Provide 1-2-1 support for school-age children, working at Universal Plus and Partnership Plus levels
  • Act as a whole-family safeguarding caseload holder, including strategy calls and referrals to specialist services
  • Deliver the Healthy Together continence offer and support early intervention for emotional health issues
  • Coordinate and support the completion of health questionnaires in schools

Requirements

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience of working with children, young people, and families. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
