Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Gap Technical Ltd. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for executing mechanical activities on-site, performing planned maintenance tasks, and diagnosing breakdown faults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute mechanical activities on-site as directed by the engineering manager.
  • Perform all planned maintenance tasks, change overs, and additional work as required.
  • Diagnose breakdown faults in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and coordinate with other departments as needed.
  • Manage equipment, materials, and tools for work execution.
  • Report resources and time utilized, job scope expansion, rework, or deferred maintenance.
  • Provide technical support for machine breakdowns and changeovers.
Requirements
  • Apprentice-trained to ONC/HNC/C&G Level 3.
  • Able to read hydraulics/pneumatics circuits.
  • Proficient in reading and producing mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with PPM on mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of TPM/6S/Continuous Improvement/Lean principles.
  • Electrical and mechanical ability essential.
  • Complex problem-solving and fault-finding experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and learn independently.
