Job Title: Metrology Engineer

Kinetic Plc is seeking a skilled Metrology Engineer to join our team in a permanent position. As a Metrology Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Dimensional Metrology: Measure sizes and distances over an object's surface to ensure accuracy and precision.
  2. Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect castings according to company procedures and customer requirements, and approve or reject them based on quality standards.
  3. Measurement Program Development: Develop measurement programs for all parts and complete a program for parts to ensure they are measured at each drawing revision.
  4. Analysis and Reporting: Collect and perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate to performance metrics and create reports.
  5. Customer Liaison: Support customer quality representatives on projects and communicate with team members and supervision to ensure the area is working efficiently.
  6. Equipment Maintenance: Follow pre-use checks and shutdown processes, maintain equipment in safe working condition, and check inspection equipment before use.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Participate in the development and improvement of inspection practices and procedures, and promote ideas to optimize inspection productivity.
Requirements:
  1. Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience using metrology equipment, 3D scanning, and 3D software.
  2. Technical Skills: Experience with CMMs, inspection, measuring instruments, vision systems, hardness testers, portable measuring arms, gauging, optical measurement equipment, and dimensional equipment.
  3. Quality Standards: In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards, with a trained eye for detail and reliability.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and active time management to deal with customers and achieving project deadlines.
  5. Teamwork: Good communication skills and teamwork, with the ability to work in a high-paced environment and maintain a clean work environment.
Advantageous Skills:
  1. Quality Auditor: Experience as a Quality Auditor.
  2. Fork-lift Licence: Fork-lift licence or experience with crane, lifting, and slinging.
