About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in English Language and Literature to join our team at Cheshire College - South & West. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in English Language and Literature, developing and delivering engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess students in English Language and Literature, including resit GSCE English courses;
  • Develop and deliver high-quality lesson plans and materials, tailored to meet the needs of our students;
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students, including tutorial support and administrative tasks;
  • Contribute to the development of the English Language and Literature curriculum, including curriculum design and review;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective teaching and learning environment;
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance teaching and learning practices;
  • Contribute to the college's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, including promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity;
  • Engage with industry partners and stakeholders to ensure the curriculum remains current and relevant to local, regional, and national needs;
Person Specification
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent teaching qualification;
  • Relevant degree in English Language and Literature or a related field;
  • Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in education and the learning environment;
  • Up-to-date occupational experience in teaching and education;
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check;
