Key Responsibilities:- Develop detailed CAD drawings and 3D models of event spaces, stages, and installations, ensuring all designs meet the project's technical, creative, and safety requirements.
- Produce accurate construction drawings, floor plans, rigging plans, and layouts for large-scale events, ensuring feasibility and structural integrity.
- Translate creative concepts and ideas into technical drawings and realistic 3D renderings, enabling the team and clients to visualize the final event setup.
- Collaborate with production managers, technical directors, and creative teams to ensure designs align with the overall event vision and production requirements.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to collect measurements, assess venue space, and ensure CAD designs accurately reflect the physical environment.
- Liaise with AV, lighting, and staging teams to ensure technical equipment is incorporated seamlessly into the event designs, considering rigging points, cable runs, and access requirements.
- Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and venue guidelines in each city, considering varying international standards.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date CAD files, ensuring timely delivery of drawings and revisions to the production team as event plans evolve.
- Identify potential challenges in the design phase and propose practical solutions to optimize the event setup and ensure a smooth production process.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CAD Designer, preferably within the event, exhibition, or live entertainment industry, with experience working on large-scale productions.
- Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks (Essential), AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other industry-standard 2D/3D CAD software. Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
- Proven experience designing large-scale event spaces, including stages, booths, rigging structures, and temporary installations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all technical drawings, ensuring designs are functional, safe, and achievable within project constraints.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines, particularly in a fast-paced event production environment.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external suppliers, and clients, ensuring design intentions are clear and feasible.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate design and logistical challenges before they arise.
- Experience working on events across different countries within the EMEA region.
- Familiarity with 3D rendering software (e.g., Cinema 4D, 3ds Max) for creating realistic visualisations.
- Knowledge of local building regulations, safety standards, and permitting processes across multiple EMEA cities.
- Degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
