Chef Manager Job Description

Hamilton Mayday is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead our catering department in a 75-bed care home in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality meals are served to residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the catering department, including staff supervision, training, and development
  • Liaise with residents, families, and staff to understand dietary needs and preferences
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to various dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets
  • Manage kitchen budgets and ensure cost control
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Chef Manager in a care home or similar environment
  • Strong financial management skills, with the ability to work within budget
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
