Secondary Education Instructors

Are you seeking a rewarding opportunity in the field of education? Whether you are a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience or a seasoned professional in need of a flexible work schedule, we have the perfect role for you. Academics is a prominent provider of temporary teaching staff and educational support across various regions. This year, the demand for substitute educators is exceptionally high, and we anticipate this trend to continue.

As a part of our team, you will enjoy the flexibility to choose your working days while having the chance to engage with a diverse range of secondary schools. These institutions frequently require dedicated educators to cover lessons across multiple key stages. In your role as a substitute teacher, you may also be tasked with general cover responsibilities, which means you will teach subjects outside of your primary specialization.

As a secondary educator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Availability for at least two days each week
  • Residing within a reasonable distance from your assigned schools
  • Possessing a clear UK DBS on the update service or being willing to apply for a new one through Academics
  • Confidently delivering lessons to full classes or small groups across all secondary key stages
  • Effectively managing student behavior within the classroom
  • Engaging students during lessons and adapting your teaching methods to accommodate varying levels of understanding
