Location: Warrington

Reporting Structure: Reports to Quality Manager / Operations Director

Compensation: £32,000 - £35,000

Torque Consulting is actively searching for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a rapidly growing global manufacturing organization. This company specializes in the design, development, and production of high-quality products within a cutting-edge facility. The position has become available due to the company's expansion efforts, and you will collaborate with some of the largest engineering firms worldwide to execute customized projects and design initiatives.

Role Objective:

The primary focus of this role is to enhance processes, resolve issues, and identify challenges utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies. You will be responsible for mentoring and developing the skills of team members, fostering a culture of excellence and ongoing improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ effective problem-solving strategies to analyze quality and process failures and determine root causes.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for enhancement.
  • Provide insights on the scope and value of improvements, including timelines and cost assessments.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive targeted improvements.
  • Guide and mentor individuals and teams to implement enhancements.
  • Conduct value stream mapping, analyze, and design efficient process flows and layouts.
  • Contribute to the planning and specification of capital expenditure projects.
  • Establish a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.
  • Perform work studies to accurately evaluate work content.
  • Develop communication strategies to engage and inform stakeholders.
  • Coach team members to enhance their skills, enabling them to apply lean tools regularly and manage their own improvement initiatives.
  • Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide weekly reports on current performance, improvement strategies, and agreed-upon actions.
  • Coordinate necessary downtime, access, and training for improvement activities as needed.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing improvement capacity.
  • Practical knowledge of various problem-solving, Lean, and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Structured methodology with strong prioritization and time management abilities.
  • Experience in people-controlled assembly or machining processes.
  • Proactive ownership of challenges and a results-driven mindset.
  • A talent for engaging and nurturing the development of others.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and credibility with clients and diverse stakeholders.
  • A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities.
  • A robust work ethic.
  • Willingness to travel between different sites.
