Are you passionate about contributing positively to your community? We have exciting opportunities available within our Cemetery Services across North Lanarkshire.
In this essential position, you will perform grass cutting and upkeep tasks within the cemeteries during the spring and summer seasons, while rotating to conduct memorial safety inspections and maintenance in the autumn and winter months. You will receive comprehensive training to develop skills in both land maintenance and memorial safety operations.
Candidates should have prior experience in maintaining landscaped areas, including grass, shrubs, and flower beds. Familiarity with various grass cutting equipment, such as pedestrian machinery, hand-operated tools, and petrol strimmers, is essential.
Your responsibilities will encompass a full range of memorial safety tasks, including inspecting, securing, and erecting memorials. Additionally, you will manage daily activities related to memorial safety, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures.
Proficiency in literacy and digital skills is necessary to utilize IT devices for recording actions and updating records. The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including manual handling of heavier materials. A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a courteous demeanor when interacting with the public are essential. You should be capable of working both collaboratively and independently.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills are required, along with relevant experience in a similar role. Health and safety awareness is crucial, and training in manual handling will be provided. A valid Driving Licence (Categories B&E and C) is necessary, and possession of spraying certificates PA1, PA2, and PA6 would be advantageous.
A satisfactory outcome from Hand Arm Vibration and Audiometric Testing is required.
Working Schedule:
Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm, Friday 8am to 3.30pm
