Job Summary

Job Title: Shift Engineer - Automated Distribution

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Engineer to join our client's team in Corby, Northamptonshire. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems
  • Carry out planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, and project work
  • Work on conveyors, automated stacker cranes, SCADA systems, barcode readers, scanners, cooling systems, site services, palletisers, automated turntables, PLCs, elevators
  • Work in a cold storage facility
  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance of automated stacker cranes that can operate up to 42 metres high
  • Assist in developing planned maintenance schedules for all new machinery and systems
  • Problem solve and fault find in a fast-paced environment
  • Deal with gearboxes, bearings, rollers, shafts, drives, sensors, control panels, servo drives
Requirements
  • Formal electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, 17th or 18th Edition)
  • Happy working at heights up to 42 metres on cranes
  • Comfortable working in cold and freezer conditions
  • Weigh under 19st (125kg) due to health and safety regulations
  • Multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role
  • Experience in automated warehouse, distribution, FMCG, manufacturing
  • PLC and electrical fault finding skills beneficial
