As part of our commitment to enhancing work-life balance, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, while maintaining current salary levels. This adjustment will also apply proportionately to part-time employees. Please note that certain service areas may not immediately implement this change, and you may be required to work an additional 30 minutes weekly temporarily, for which you will be compensated until the service adapts its scheduling.

The designated working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 14:00. (Note: Salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.)

Role Overview: The primary objective of this position is to facilitate effective clinical care by delivering a proficient Health Records service within a ward setting. The responsibilities include ensuring that patient health records are accurately managed and maintained confidentially. The successful candidate will provide support across various wards as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reception duties for patients.
  • Handling telephone inquiries.
  • Appointment scheduling.
  • Maintaining patient demographic information within the management system.

Applicants should possess prior clerical or reception experience, along with a background in customer service. Strong organizational, typing, and communication skills are essential, as well as proficiency in computer systems.

This position is classified as a GGC-wide role, with the initial base location specified.

Important Note: This role does not qualify for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
