Job Summary

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual to oversee the smooth operation of our reception team. The successful candidate will have experience working in primary care, preferably in a GP practice, and will be familiar with clinical systems, such as Emis. They will work closely with our Practice Manager and the practice team to provide an exceptional service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the reception team during practice opening hours
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the reception area
  • Work closely with the Practice Manager and the practice team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Experience in primary care and knowledge of Emis is essential

Person Specification

  • Primary care experience - preferably in a GP practice
  • Scope to Act - proven ability to work under own initiative and identify potential challenges
  • Organisational Skills - experience of managing staff rotas and preparing reports for senior management
  • Role Complexity - experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and patient engagement
  • Service Development / Implementation - experience of delivering against work plans and identifying challenges
  • Communication/Influencing - experience of working with junior and senior staff and engaging with patients
  • Experience of managing difficult situations and complaints management

Desirable Qualifications

  • GCSE or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience or above
  • Primary care experience
  • Experience of managing reception teams
