About the Role

As a Prison Officer with Serco Plc, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of prisoners, staff, and visitors in our prisons. You will be responsible for supervising prisoners, overseeing work and education programmes, and managing operational matters such as prisoner headcounts and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise prisoners in all aspects of prison wing activity
  • Oversee work and education programmes, encouraging prisoners to participate
  • Manage operational matters such as prisoner headcounts, prison cell searching, security, and administrative processes
  • Support prisoners who are at risk of self-harm
