**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Production Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production facilities, in compliance with cGMP and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- **Operate Production Facilities:** Safely and efficiently operate production facilities, adhering to cGMP and company procedures.
- **Manufacturing and Production:** Carry out the manufacture and production of pharmaceutical intermediates/products, ensuring Environmental, Health and Safety precautions are being adhered to.
- **Quality Control:** Monitor and check that Manufacturing Procedures are being completed in full accordance with cGMP procedures, and that all relevant checks are performed to verify documentation.
- **Communication and Cooperation:** Ensure good communications and co-operation with fellow Production Technicians and Supervisors within the Production Department.
- **Legislation and Compliance:** Observe legislation relating to environmental protection and safety in the workplace, and co-operate fully with other members of the Production Department to ensure the safe and effective operation of the Plant.
- **Raw Material Transfer:** Transfer raw materials from an isotanker to the plant for further processing, and charge raw materials and intermediates from IBCs and drums to the plant.
- **Product Transfer:** Transfer finished products from the plant to an isotanker for storage or transportation, and discharge product to IBCs from the plant.
- **Plant Operations:** Utilise an online simulator to configure and optimise the plant's operations, ensuring it runs efficiently and effectively.
- **Documentation and Reporting:** Document and complete necessary paperwork related to plant operations, such as logs, reports, and permits in line with process.
- **DCS Operations:** Operate the plant using the Distributed Control System (DCS), which allows you to control and monitor various aspects of the plant's operation.
- **Performance Monitoring:** Use the DCS system to monitor the plant's performance, track trends, and make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal operation.
- **Ad Hoc Duties:** Complete other ad hoc duties as and when required to fulfil the workload of the department.
- **Training and Development:** Participate in both 'in house' and external training sessions, aimed at improving knowledge and understanding within the areas of responsibility.
- **Interdepartmental Activities:** Participate in a variety of interdepartmental activities which may affect and relate to the Production Department.
- **Cooperation and Assistance:** Cooperate and assist other departments as required within the confines of individual training and expertise.
- **Proven Work Experience:** Proven work experience as a Process Operator/Technician or similar role, within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- **DCS Experience:** DCS experience preferred but not essential.
- **Attention to Detail:** Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- **Health and Safety Knowledge:** Excellent health and safety knowledge.
- **Qualifications:** Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in process.
