About the Role

This is a key patient safety role within Spire, and the post holder will work as part of the Pre-operative assessment (POA) service. Reporting to the POA Manager, the post holder is responsible for supervising the team and ensuring the safe assessment of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Pre-Operative Assessment team to ensure safe and effective patient assessment
  • Work closely with the POA Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine fitness for surgery
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals

Requirements

  • NMC registration with no restrictions or conditions
  • 1 year Team Lead experience (not necessarily in POA)
  • Minimum of 2 years Pre-Assessment experience
  • Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care
  • Strong communication skills
