Job Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:

CSC Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-spec residential new build projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed cost plans and estimates from inception to project completion.
  • Monitor and control project expenditure to ensure costs remain within budget.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and quality services.
  • Administer contract changes and manage variations to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage any disputes or claims effectively.
  • Conduct regular valuations of ongoing work, assess the value of completed work, and issue payment certificates.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor and supplier payments.
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare contingency plans to address any unforeseen issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project costs, variations, and contractual changes.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts.

Requirements:

Education:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing high-value, luxury residential projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
