Join Elysium Healthcare as a Cook, where you will collaborate with a committed team in a supportive kitchen environment. This position involves working 37.5 hours per week, preparing nutritious meals for service users, staff, and visitors. You will play a vital role in food preparation and have the opportunity to mentor and train fellow team members.Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing the daily operations of the kitchen. Ensure proper food storage practices and stock rotation are followed. Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, accommodating special requests and dietary needs. Serve meals to service users, staff, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy. Prepare and produce food for events and gatherings. Participate in food cost management through effective control measures. Comply with 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and maintain accurate records. Adhere to Food Hygiene Regulations and safety protocols at all times. Take full responsibility for the catering operations during your shift. Support the Head Chef in researching and developing new menus that align with healthy eating guidelines. Maintain accurate documentation related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules.Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older. GCSE or equivalent in English. City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) in Basic Food Preparation and Cooking. Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential). Intermediate Food Hygiene certification (desirable). Previous experience in a similar culinary environment. Experience in providing mass catering services. Skills in menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget management.Work Environment
