Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive Opportunity

Ashtons Legal LLP is seeking a skilled Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our Private Client/Lifetime Planning Team in Ipswich.

Our Team

We provide expert advice and guidance to our clients on a range of private client matters, including wills, trusts, estate administration, powers of attorney, and Court of Protection. Our team has a strong focus on helping high net worth individuals, elderly, and vulnerable clients and their families.

The Role

We are looking for a Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least five years of post-qualification experience in private client work. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, working alongside our team members, and developing your skills across the discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage your own caseload, including financial housekeeping
  • Develop, support, and supervise junior team members
  • Conduct client meetings and assessments
  • Advise on costs and scope of work
  • Conduct legal research and draft documents
  • Keep up to date with law and practice
  • Assist the Lifetime Planning Team in other offices when required
  • Develop long-term client relationships and assist in business development activities

Requirements

  • Qualified as a Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer
  • At least five years of post-qualification experience in private client work, particularly estate administration, and working with vulnerable clients
  • STEP qualification or part-qualified, or a keen interest in working towards this
  • Knowledgeable in complex private client work
  • Excellent communication and team skills
  • Experience in developing junior team members
  • Good work ethic
