Position Summary: We are currently in search of a qualified and experienced Water Quality Risk Specialist to become a part of our dedicated and professional team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and manage the risks associated with Legionella contamination in various water systems.
- Evaluate a range of water systems, including cooling towers and both hot and cold-water systems, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Analyze factors contributing to Legionella growth and transmission, such as water temperature, system design, water quality, and maintenance practices.
- Conduct thorough inspections of water systems at client locations to pinpoint potential sources of Legionella contamination.
- Collect water samples from various points within the systems and coordinate laboratory analysis for Legionella detection.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in Legionella risk assessment and management by participating in relevant training and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, guidelines, and industry standards.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing assessment findings, including risk levels, compliance status, and recommendations for risk mitigation.
Client Advisory: Provide expert advice to clients on implementing control measures to minimize or eliminate the risk of Legionella contamination. This may involve cleaning and disinfection, temperature regulation, and maintenance of water systems.
Working Conditions: This role typically operates Monday to Friday, with optional overtime available.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Legionella Risk Assessor.
- 2-3 years of experience in the water industry is preferred.
- Completion of City & Guilds LRA courses (domestic and cooling water) is advantageous.
- HTM04 training (healthcare premises) is preferable.
- Possession of a safety passport or IOSHH certification is a plus.
