Orion Careers is seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient Maintenance Technician to join our team as a Night Shift Maintenance Professional. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reactive maintenance on medium and heavy plant machinery, including conveyors, weaving machines, rollers, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and relays.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Identify and implement line improvement tasks to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Use fault-finding skills to diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled systems.
  • Work from electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Develop and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve overall plant performance.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to set up and maintain machines.
  • Provide a high-quality engineering service to support the smooth operation of the facility.

Requirements:

  • Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant trade, ideally electrical.
  • Electrical qualifications from a recognized body.
  • NVQ level 3 or BTEC L3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience with PLC systems.
