Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and eager apprentice to become a part of our Communications Team, operating within the Deputy Chief Executive directorate. This role combines practical training with the opportunity to earn a Level 3 qualification in Multi-Channel Marketing.
As a key player in one of the largest employers in the region, you will acquire a diverse set of skills, including strategic planning, content development (encompassing video and podcast production), copywriting, assessment, and stakeholder interaction. You will also gain valuable experience in campaign execution and event coordination, paving the way for a successful career in communications and engagement.

We are a vibrant and innovative corporate communications and engagement team dedicated to delivering professional communication support and advice to both internal and external stakeholders. Our expertise spans various disciplines, including public relations, media relations, social media, campaigns, and internal communications.
Buckinghamshire Council is a newly formed organization that merges the strengths and capabilities of the previous five councils in the area, aiming to create positive transformations for local residents, communities, and businesses. We are committed to future-focused initiatives that enhance service delivery and representation for Buckinghamshire at both local and national levels.
Role Responsibilities
In this position, you will report to the Strategic Internal Communications Lead and contribute to various functions within the communications team while pursuing the Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship throughout your tenure. We will ensure you receive the necessary support and time during your work hours for study and assessments, eliminating the need for evening or weekend study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the communications team in the planning and execution of communication strategies and campaigns, including research, development, and implementation of innovative ideas and solutions.
- Aiding in the evaluation and reporting of communication initiatives, utilizing diverse tools and methods to measure and showcase impact and effectiveness.
- Producing high-quality written, visual, and audio content for various communication platforms, ensuring creativity, accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and alignment with the council's branding and tone.
- Establishing and nurturing positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Providing administrative support as needed.
Working Environment
As a flexible worker, you will need to connect to our network to access digital resources, which can be done from home or an office location as required. You will be expected to work from the office a few times a week, depending on your role and team needs.

Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates must possess a Level 2 qualification or higher in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE grades A* - C/9-4 or equivalent), or a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship Qualification.
Important Note:
Candidates with a degree in the same field as this apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications will not be eligible for this position.
