Main Responsibilities- Support Team Leaders: Provide on-site support to team leaders, utilizing your skills and work organization to manage complex tasks, particularly within the commercial and reactive teams.
- Initiative and Decision-Making: Take the initiative to deliver tasks that require higher levels of decision-making, such as working around unexpected circumstances to prevent delays and sourcing materials and equipment outside the normal range of maintenance tasks.
- Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance: Undertake specialist cleansing and ground maintenance activities using large-scale, specialist plant and equipment across the city, including grass cutting, grave digging, hedge cutting, landscape construction and repair, mechanical sweeping, and ground clearance works.
- Less Specialist Tasks: Perform less specialist cleansing and ground maintenance tasks, such as grounds maintenance and vegetation management, graffiti removal, mechanical sweeping, and general maintenance of sports pitches and outdoor facilities.
- Issue Resolution: Respond to and resolve issues that arise on a daily basis and report and support Public and Green Space Team leaders to resolve complex issues.
- Public Communication: Inform members of the public, businesses, and Public and Green Space Commercial customers about your work and assist with their queries or complaints.
- Health and Safety: Undertake work in a safe and effective manner at all times, following City Council policies and procedures, and be responsible for your safety and that of the public.
- Recording and Training: Undertake basic recording of information, such as play equipment checks and personal protective equipment site condition and compliance checks, and undertake training on the safe use of equipment and safe working practices.
- Flexibility: Work flexibly at evening and weekend when required to meet the demand of the service.
