Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant/Auditor to join our team. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of year-end financial statements, training and advising junior staff, and preparing accounts for clients across our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Train and advise junior staff on accounting procedures and best practices, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Input draft accounts onto our internal system, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Prepare accounts on behalf of clients across our portfolio, demonstrating expertise and attention to detail.
- Prepare management accounts and VAT returns for clients, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Plan and oversee audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Lead a team of 2-3 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist staff with ad-hoc accounting projects, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an accounting role within practice or industry, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- AAT/ACA/ACCA qualifications, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and reconciling creditors experience, with a strong attention to detail.
- Reconciliation of PAYE and VAT experience, with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- Processing and inputting VAT figures, with a strong attention to accuracy and compliance.
