Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Manager to join our team at St. Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school's catering operations, ensuring the provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional standards of the school and the government's national nutritional standards for school lunches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage kitchen staff, including training and development, to ensure the delivery of high-quality meals
  • Develop and implement healthy and nutritious meal plans that meet the school's nutritional standards
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including the safe use of equipment and materials
  • Monitor and manage stock and supplies, including ordering and recording ingredients used
  • Supervise the preparation and serving of meals, including the transportation of meals if required
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers of food and cleaning materials
  • Ensure the maintenance of a clean and orderly working environment
  • Participate in training and other learning activities as required
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the school receives information to demonstrate the progress of the school meals service and the progress of pupils in dietary choice
Requirements
  • Proven experience in catering management, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Ability to develop and implement healthy and nutritious meal plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
