Elvet Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Foreman to oversee projects across the North of England for a leading remediation and earthworks contractor.

This contractor is a well-established name in the industry, renowned for delivering high-quality solutions to a diverse range of clients, from housing to commercial and industrial projects.

The business operates from a Yorkshire office and has a significant presence across the Midlands, Yorkshire, North East, and Lincolnshire, with a wide range of live projects on the ground.

Key Projects:

Brownfield remediation, bulk earthworks, muck shift, soil stabilization, contaminated land, and general civils packages.

Responsibilities as General Foreman:

  • Conducting plant checks and maintaining check sheets
  • Delivering HSE toolbox talks and daily briefings
  • Monitoring health and safety on site
  • Supervising sub-contractors and direct labour
  • Assisting with permits and documentation
  • Attending progress meetings
  • Supporting the Site Agent in the daily running of the site to meet deadlines and targets

Requirements for the Role:

  • Proven experience as a General Foreman or Site Supervisor in remediation and bulk earthworks schemes
  • Experience in managing workforces comprising both sub-contractors and direct staff
  • Hold CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, and full driving license certifications

Remuneration:

A competitive salary of up to £52,000 (dependent on experience) plus company vehicle or allowance, fuel, annual leave, healthcare, pension scheme, and other benefits.
