Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with moving in or out of Target accommodation, ensuring a smooth transition and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' circumstances, aspirations, and needs to create personalized support plans that are realistic and achievable.
  • Act as a keyworker, providing advice and support to residents to help them develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living.
  • Help residents maximize their income and manage their personal budgets effectively.
  • Support residents in understanding their rights and responsibilities under their occupancy agreements.
  • Encourage and motivate residents to achieve their personal goals, promoting a sense of empowerment and self-sufficiency.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure that they are properly recorded and shared with relevant officers.
  • Review and adapt support plans as needed to reflect changing circumstances and needs.
  • Ensure that residents pay their rent on time and assist with benefit claims where necessary.
  • Monitor residents' handling of Target Housing property and consumption of utilities, taking prompt action when necessary to prevent unnecessary costs.
  • Monitor occupancy to prevent abandonment or damage, taking prompt action to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Where appropriate, assist residents with budgeting and negotiate with other bodies on their behalf to resolve arrears.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as the Probation Service, to ensure that all relevant information is shared and residents' needs are met.
  • Enable and support residents to deal with conflict and disputes, promoting a positive and respectful living environment.
  • Assist in the delivery and development of resident activities, promoting a sense of community and social connection.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring that the value of the tenant support service can be audited and evaluated.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with external organizations, ensuring that residents' needs are met and that services are delivered effectively.
  • Participate in office duty arrangements and provide cover for absent colleagues as needed.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of services provided to vulnerable groups and the importance of delivering high-quality support services.
  • Knowledge of delivering supported housing services and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Basic knowledge of the Welfare Benefits System and the ability to assist residents with benefit claims.
  • Understanding of risk assessments and support planning, with the ability to create personalized plans that meet residents' needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, with a focus on customer service and resident satisfaction.
