Role Overview
As a Vehicle Electrician, your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks that are essential to the upkeep and functionality of our vehicles and electrical systems. Your expertise will be crucial in performing servicing, repairs, maintenance, and comprehensive overhauls of vehicles and associated electrical equipment, including diagnostic and inspection activities.

On a daily basis, you will:

  • Conduct inspections, servicing, repairs, and overhauls of vehicles and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Diagnose and assess the condition of vehicles and related mechanical or electrical systems based on your skills and qualifications.
  • Accurately document all job transactions in accordance with current ERP processes, ensuring timely submission of completed work and time records to your supervisor.
  • Complete all necessary vehicle and equipment documentation, including test certificates and reports, adhering to current standards.
  • Utilize issued materials and equipment appropriately, returning any unused or defective items to your supervisor promptly.

This role involves physical tasks, which may include lifting, bending, using tools, and standing for extended periods.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in a dealership or local garage setting.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of recognized military or civilian training in the relevant trade discipline or an accredited apprenticeship in the relevant field is essential.

Minimum academic qualifications include:

  • City and Guilds Level 1, 2, and 3 in the relevant trade discipline.
  • ONC in the relevant trade discipline.
  • NVQ Level 3 in the relevant trade discipline.

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position.
