We work closely with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders, and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions, and hot and cold plastic plumbing products.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide operational and administrative support to our Transport Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services, including managing driver schedules, tracking shipments, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage sales office and customer service queries, providing accurate and helpful information to customers.
- Assist drivers with issues while on the road, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Accurately record and track shipments, including loading, unloading, and delivery information.
- Allocate driver work, including vehicle assignments and route planning.
- Plan and coordinate transportation requests, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Process and manage paperwork, including delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Update departmental databases and systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Communicate with drivers regarding service and maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of driver hours, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Provide administrative support to the Transport Department, as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is an asset, but not essential.
- Strong numeric, literacy, and IT skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to use own initiative and take ownership of processes and responsibilities.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment is an advantage.
