Project Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Structural Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our structures team, you will be responsible for designing, checking, and managing all elements of the design of multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and check structural elements of projects, including buildings, bridges, and other structures.
  • Manage and coordinate the design process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, such as geotechnical and civil engineering, to provide a comprehensive design service.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including contractor and developer clients.
  • Conduct site inspections and supervise construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, design packages, and tender submission packages.
  • Guide and supervise junior colleagues, providing training and development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Graduate membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or a similar professional body.
  • Relevant postgraduate experience working in a consulting engineering practice or similar organization.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design procedures, construction processes, and relevant design software.
  • Experience with structural design, analysis, and inspection, including working with primary structural materials.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
