Your Role
The Acquisition Editor will be instrumental in enhancing the Short Books imprint's portfolio. This position encompasses a wide array of responsibilities within our non-illustrated Wellbeing category, focusing on daily interactions with authors to develop and refine manuscripts. You will actively seek out fresh and compelling voices in the industry while nurturing existing author relationships to explore new concepts.
As a passionate advocate for your titles, you will collaborate closely with our design and commercial teams throughout the publishing process. Your established industry connections and proactive approach to identifying and shaping new projects will be key to your success.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual with a background in non-fiction publishing, particularly in Health, Wellness, Family, Relationships, and Lifestyle genres. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated leader, adept at facilitating productive discussions and achieving positive outcomes.
We value creativity, ambition, and teamwork, and seek someone enthusiastic about discovering exceptional new talent for our catalogue while providing outstanding editorial support. A genuine interest in health and wellbeing topics is essential.
Applicants should possess strong editorial capabilities and a proven track record in acquiring and publishing non-fiction works. The successful candidate will be an experienced acquisition editor seeking a broader role or a new challenge, with a history of sourcing and developing projects through literary agents and direct engagement with talent. Familiarity with Biblio is advantageous.
