Site Operative

FishTek Ltd is a leading provider of civil engineering and fisheries consultancy services across the UK, Ireland, SE Asia, and West Africa. Our team of experts includes Civil, Structural and Mechanical Engineers, fisheries biologists, and environmental scientists, as well as site operatives who work closely with a network of specialists in the river environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing site access points and setting up welfare facilities prior to work commencement
  • Installing small cofferdams using sandbags, dumpy bags, or framing and boards as required
  • Working on site to install eel passes and fish passes, utilizing hand tools and small machines where necessary, with adequate training provided
  • Assisting with the mixing of concrete, mortar, and other site materials as needed
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication

Person Specification:

  • Desirable experience working in the water industry
  • First Aid training, CSCS card, and CITB Site Safety + (or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience working on small to medium civil construction projects, preferably in the water environment, with a range of hand tools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with team members, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Reasonable computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
