Job Description

Job Title: Civil / Rail Engineering General Foreman

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Foreman to join our team at Kier Group. As a General Foreman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team to plan and deliver construction activities to the appropriate standards and in line with the accepted programme, budget, and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
  • Manage safety on site, including giving inductions, effective Toolbox Talks, Daily Task Briefings, and Point of Work assessments to site operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Allocate duties to site operatives and coordinate sub-contractors.
  • Supervise site operatives and sub-contractors and site activities to ensure tasks are carried out within their levels of skill and expertise.
  • Coordinate with Line Managers on managing work methods that are technically sound, safe, economically viable, feasible, and consistent, and advise them of any items that may impact or change the contract programme.

Requirements:

  • Experience of work in the water industry.
  • NVQ Level 1/2.
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card – Supervisor - Gold, SMSTS.
  • Experienced Supervisor or Manager.
  • First Aid Trained.
  • Appointed person/crane coordinator.
  • IT literate with Microsoft packages.
