Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Traffic Dispatcher to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a Traffic Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our depot, managing vehicle allocation, and maintaining high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Route Efficiency: Manage route efficiency and optimize disposal outlets to ensure effective use of vehicles and facilities.
- Driver Management: Manage driver availability and coverage in line with legislation and company procedures to ensure suitable coverage at all times.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties, including input of pay and bonus onto company systems, accurate input of disposal information, and proactive vehicle management.
- Vehicle Supervision: Supervise vehicle availability on a daily basis, ensuring drivers have completed checks in accordance with company policy.
- Cost Control: Contribute towards ongoing cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Administrative Tasks: Ensure all administrative tasks associated with the Dispatch office are completed, including time sheets, tachograph records, payroll records, holiday rotas, and resolution of QLS.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English.
- Experience: Experience of a position of similar responsibility in Services or Logistics industry.
- Local Knowledge: Local geographical knowledge.
- Transport Knowledge: Good transport / logistics knowledge.
- Communication Skills: Articulate, confident, and assertive.
- Teamwork: Ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision, and work well with others.
