Position Overview

This is a permanent, full-time role within the Construction sector, specifically focusing on Shopfitting and Joinery. With a robust history of over 15 years in the industry, our client is dedicated to becoming the leading contractor, setting themselves apart in the competitive construction landscape.

Due to ongoing business expansion, there is a requirement for a Cost Consultant to operate from their office. The role will necessitate regular travel across the UK, depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

The Cost Consultant will be accountable for the financial aspects of projects, overseeing costs from the pre-construction phase through to project completion, and will report directly to the Managing Director.

Essential duties include:

  • Ensuring project costs align with budgetary expectations.
  • Issuing all contractual notifications to subcontractors promptly.
  • Commencing all subcontract packages in accordance with project timelines.
  • Instructing subcontractors and managing supplier orders.
Financial Management
  • Monitoring project finances.
  • Preparing valuations and final accounts.
  • Overseeing projects and measured term contracts.
  • Pricing for additional and varied works.
  • Administering construction contracts.
Candidate Requirements
  • Flexibility to work in various offices and sites to understand new projects and clients.
  • Willingness to travel away from home as necessary.
  • A valid UK driving license is mandatory.
  • Strong financial and numerical management skills.
  • Proficient ICT skills, particularly in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients to meet project requirements.
