Control and Instrumentation Technician

Your primary duties will involve the maintenance, repair, and installation of essential equipment that ensures safety and supports production.

Compensation:
Approximately £35,000 (dependent on experience) plus allowances, resulting in a gross salary typically exceeding £40,000 (including On-Call allowance and overtime).

Your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Leading planned maintenance and troubleshooting of site control and instrumentation systems, including but not limited to pressure, flow, temperature, level, pneumatic systems, PLCs, and control systems.
- Working with functional safety systems, including Safety Integrated Systems (SIS) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) equipment.
- Implementing safe work systems and procedures, demonstrating a thorough understanding and compliance with all relevant legislative and company standards within your area of responsibility.
- Exhibiting professional behavior and effective communication with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
- Conducting technical investigations and generating reports to support modifications, unusual events, or design reviews.
- Assisting with additional tasks such as installation, commissioning, and capital projects as needed.
- Potentially providing support for an On-Call Rota to ensure systems are maintained 24/7 (with allowances for this work).


To qualify for this position, candidates must possess an engineering apprenticeship with a minimum NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in a relevant technical field or an NVQ/Diploma Level 2 combined with industrial experience.

Applicants must be prepared to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing to complete specific training for designated areas of the site.
