About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our SHE team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and stakeholders.

Reporting to the SHE Director, you will be responsible for investigating accidents, preparing and organizing safety reviews, and ensuring that actions are documented and closed. You will also work closely with the business to identify and mitigate safety issues across all sites and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitor the implementation of health and safety risk controls and report Key Performance Indicators.
  2. Assist the Environmental Manager in improving environmental performance and provide guidance on Health & Safety matters as required.
  3. Audit operational requirements against EHS management systems and procedures.
  4. Support Process Risk Assessments, Safe working Procedures, and advise on improvements.
  5. Ensure compliance with Corporate, Company, and Legislative requirements.
  6. Provide proactive support in the implementation of the Company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  7. Conduct accident investigations and reporting.
  8. Prepare and implement complex Lifting plans for non-standard operations.
  9. Guide departmental managers and supervisors on standard lifting operations, controls, and procedures.
  10. Train and guide staff on new H&S working methods, Policies, Procedures, and Working Instructions.
  11. Provide advice on Health and Safety compliance.
  12. Identify opportunities to continuously improve health and safety performance.
  13. Engage staff in making health and safety improvements.
  14. Provide clear standards, measures, and governance on HS&E.
  15. Support site targets, Goals, and Strategy for site HS&E compliance.
  16. Support Implementation of HSE Projects across site.
  17. Coach and Teach compliance and understanding of HS&E policies and procedures.
  18. Consult with the HR Department and Occupational Health provider as necessary.
  19. Maintain competencies through external sources.

Requirements

  1. HSE Advisor with a NEBOSH qualification and from a Manufacturing background.
  2. NEBOSH General Certificate.
  3. Experience in Heavy manufacturing is essential.
  4. Engineering competency or demonstrative experience.
  5. Minimum of 5 years similar experience.
