JT Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced Countryside Warden to join their team at a local authority's countryside site. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is passionate about maintaining and protecting countryside spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Patrols: Regularly patrol the site to ensure safety and maintenance standards are upheld.
- Safety Checks: Conduct routine safety inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure they are safe for public use.
- Litter Picking & Bin Management: Maintain the cleanliness of the site by picking up litter and emptying bins to ensure a welcoming environment for visitors.
- Public Interaction & Advice: Provide information and advice to visitors on general inquiries, safety, and site regulations.
- Mobility Scooter Hire: Assist visitors with mobility scooter hires, ensuring equipment is functioning correctly and is ready for use.
- Car Park Machine Checks: Ensure car park machines are working correctly and address any technical issues as required.
- Shop Support: Help shop staff with deliveries, restocking shelves, and any other general assistance required for smooth operations.
- Fencing and Maintenance Work: Carry out basic maintenance tasks, including fence repairs, signage upkeep, and other general maintenance.
- Volunteer Coordination: Work closely with volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed to complete various tasks across the site.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to public reports, including anti-social behaviour, injured wildlife, or any other issues that arise within the site.
- Opening and Locking Up: Open the site in the morning and ensure all areas are secure at the end of the day.
Requirements:
- NVQ level 2 landscape and ecosystems or related subject
- OND or higher in countryside management or related subject
- A minimum of one year equivalent relevant experience relating to countryside sites and facilities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with the public and volunteers
- A hands-on approach and willingness to carry out physical tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relating to park management
- Flexibility to work on a rota system, including weekends and public holidays
