Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Conveyancing lawyer to manage a portfolio of new-build property cases from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of various property laws, commercial awareness, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of new-build property cases, monitoring and delivering against personal targets
  • Independently establish priorities and manage deadlines to ensure timely completion of cases
  • Proactively manage transactions, client expectations, and relationships with other stakeholders
  • Responsible for file management, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements
  • Provide clients with legal advice, recording and representing their best interests in the transaction
  • Take instructions from clients, drafting necessary legal documents and contracts
  • Deal with complex enquiries, researching previous cases and relevant laws to provide accurate advice
  • Recognize potential risks and resolve issues without putting the client or business at risk
  • Comply with the Solicitors Regulation Authorities Rules
  • Ensure accurate billing and payment of fees
  • Provide supervision, support, and coaching to Paralegals
  • Optimize the client experience through the use of conveyancing systems and technology
  • Provide an exceptional service to clients, introducers, and third parties

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years' experience managing a new-build property portfolio of cases from inception to completion
  • Experience in all varieties and levels of title complexity essential
  • Thorough understanding of various property laws
  • Commercial awareness, keeping up to date with business and industry news
  • Resilience with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and an analytical approach to come to the best legal solutions
  • Attention to detail, extremely accurate in research and in the drafting of documents
  • Enthusiasm for delivering a high level of customer service
  • Enthusiastic team player and a natural self-starter able to work on their own initiative
  • Ability to be flexible and empathetic to deliver client needs
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Commercially aware with a strong focus on client service
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a new environment, existing procedures, and processes
  • Experience with ProClaim and Redbrick Case management system is desirable
  • Experience with investor purchases and portfolio mortgages, particularly where the lender is separately represented
