The CREST Team's Mission

The Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) plays a vital role in reducing road traffic accidents and fatalities. This team comprises both police officers and civilian staff who are dedicated to improving road safety through various initiatives and enforcement strategies.

Your Role: Data Researcher and Developer

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our CREST team as a Data Researcher and Developer. In this role, you will contribute significantly to our mission by analyzing road safety data, identifying trends, and supporting the development of effective interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and update databases to provide comprehensive road safety speeding data.
  • Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and interpretation of data to identify collision statistics and speeding trends. Your findings will inform Derbyshire Constabulary's casualty reduction strategies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of camera and enforcement interventions to ensure that annual casualty reduction targets are met. You will also analyze site performance to optimize enforcement activities for maximum impact.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in producing high-quality written reports and documentation.
  • A minimum of A Level qualifications (Grade B/6 or higher) in English and Mathematics, along with two additional A Levels.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, statistical reporting, and providing recommendations to colleagues and senior management.
  • Extensive experience in querying databases to generate statistical reports and charts. You should possess advanced skills in modifying and developing data packages using Excel spreadsheets, including designing queries, development, and implementation of systems.
