Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire

Salary: £95.00 per day

Contract: Full Time/Temporary

GSL Education is actively looking for a qualified and passionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at one of our partner SEN institutions.

As a Teaching Assistant specializing in special educational needs, you will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and supportive educational atmosphere, ensuring the well-being and academic achievements of all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs and mental health challenges, collaborating closely with educators and other specialists to execute strategies from education, health, and care plans.
  • Offer emotional guidance to students facing mental health issues, assisting them in managing their feelings, developing coping mechanisms, and enhancing their resilience.
  • Deliver immediate support during instances of emotional distress or mental health crises.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to improve skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs and mental health concerns.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in a Teaching Assistant role within a Secondary SEN educational environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of establishing positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Exhibit empathy, patience, and resilience when assisting students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related discipline.
