Manufacturing Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and testing industrial turbochargers for the power generation, marine, and rail traction industries.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing, taking responsibility for delivery, project planning, execution, and cost.
* Creation and maintenance of supporting documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and instructions.
* Define, perform, and implement investigations into non-conformance through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Inspection activities, including the creation of non-conformance reports, in-process, and final inspection protocols.
* Work cross-functionally with different departments, such as Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers.
* NC programming of multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machines.
* Programming of CMMs using PC-DMIS.

Requirements

* Ideally, you will be qualified to HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
* Experience in a modern manufacturing facility with a good understanding of modern machining techniques, plus problem-solving techniques.
* Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes.
* Computer/software literate.
