About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team at Bakkavor Barton Bread. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing a team of shift engineers, ensuring the smooth operation of our processing equipment, and implementing training and development plans to meet engineering and production needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work, optimizing plant availability and managing technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes, and packaging.
  2. Implement agreed training and development plans to meet engineering and production needs, including ownership of the dynamic risk assessment process.
  3. Minimize engineering downtime, accurately log and monitor repair time, and liaise with the planning and operations team to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area, highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager.
  5. Maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
About You
  1. Strong people management experience.
  2. A multi-skilled background.
  3. Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity and small installations.
  4. Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training.
  5. Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems.
  6. Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
