Consultant Paediatrician

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill a substantive post in community paediatrics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across community services, lead the continence team, and be the link person with the renal team.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis, with a breakdown of 8 Direct Clinical Care and 2 Supporting Professional Activity, subject to confirmation and approval of the final job plan. Applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. The post involves an on-call commitment to the Child Protection rota.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in Community Child Health clinics, continence, and renal clinics. They will see children with common problems such as neurodevelopmental disorders, sleep, and developmental delay. The candidate will also be the link person for the renal service and lead for the continence service.

The Community Child Health Service is a Lanarkshire-wide service provided from Health Centres and Community clinics throughout the area. The service is currently delivered by 5 Consultant Community Paediatricians, with further service delivery by 2 Specialty Doctors. 3 Paediatricians are involved with care-experienced children.

The continence service is undergoing a modernisation process, developing a more enhanced service and ensuring a multidisciplinary approach is achieved.
