Versatile Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus)
CBRE Local UK is a distinguished global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management solutions. We are seeking a Versatile Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus) to become part of our team.
Role Objective: The primary responsibility is to execute scheduled preventative maintenance, address reactive issues related to building machinery, equipment, and systems in alignment with established service standards, perform minor installation tasks, and respond to urgent engineering situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that routine maintenance is performed on all electrical and mechanical systems to meet and exceed expectations, adhering to agreed service level agreements.
- Conduct reactive repairs on all systems as necessary, engaging relevant subcontractors when required.
- Execute all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks as per the provided instructions.
- Document all PPM defects through the designated defect reporting process and coordinate with the supervisor regarding defect requirements.
- Update weekly equipment reports with any changes in equipment status.
- Collaborate with subcontractors for repairs and quotations, monitoring the performance of subcontractor personnel to ensure tasks are completed correctly and work areas are left in satisfactory condition.
- Sign off on completed PPM and reactive tasks using the designated mobile device in accordance with company policies and procedures in a timely manner.
- Present a professional image of CBRE to clients and visitors, ensuring excellence in customer service is consistently delivered and promoted.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with client representatives and personnel.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, complying with all company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies and working arrangements.
- Accurately maintain site logs and associated documentation.
- Participate in the call-out rota as necessary.
- Understand and maintain all systems on site.
- Collaborate with other trade engineers to ensure electrical issues across all systems are addressed and resolved within service level agreements.
- Commit to personal development and lifelong learning to maintain professional and technical skills.
Candidate Profile:
Skills: A solid educational background is essential, with proficient written and spoken English and basic mathematical abilities. Recognized Electrical Qualification, including C&G 17th Edition in Electrical Installations and C&G Test and Inspection.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of various building electrical systems and adherence to Planned Preventative Maintenance regimes. Current knowledge of relevant British Standards concerning electrical systems on site, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, power systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Experience: Previous experience in structured PPM delivery, working with business-critical equipment, and within a customer-focused role. Experience in health and safety-oriented positions and electrical systems management.
Aptitude: Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, capable of working under pressure, making sound decisions when necessary, and demonstrating good timekeeping. Must be reliable, able to work independently, and function effectively as part of a team. Strong communication skills are essential.
Working Conditions: Availability to participate in a call-out rota, work shifts as per contract requirements, and be available for weekend and out-of-hours work as needed.
