Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Delegating clinical tasks effectively while ensuring adherence to safe practice standards.
  • Supporting the clinical team with safeguarding issues in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Guiding nursing staff through performance evaluations and identifying training needs.
  • Coordinating the nursing team’s schedule to ensure adequate staffing for patient care.

  • Collaborating with the practice manager to produce the Infection Prevention and Control annual report.

  • Identifying and managing patients at risk of long-term health issues to prevent complications.
  • Providing routine nursing care based on clinical evidence and established guidelines.
  • Diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic health conditions as necessary.
  • Supporting the team in responding to clinical emergencies.

Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a primary care setting.
  • Leadership experience within a nursing team in primary care.

  • Experience as a practice nurse or community nurse.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing elderly and housebound patients.
  • Familiarity with quality initiatives and benchmarking.
