This position demands a thorough comprehension of construction methodologies, exceptional analytical capabilities, and effective communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess project requirements by analyzing scope of works, drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
  • Generate take-offs and create bills of quantities as necessary.
  • Develop detailed work packages for quality supply chain tender inquiries, while managing pre-construction relationships with supply chain partners.
  • Identify and assess potential project risks, ensuring comprehensive coverage in the tender process.
  • Evaluate pricing returns from the supply chain in relation to project requirements and develop rates and pricing from fundamental principles when necessary.
  • Engage in project meetings, site inspections, and client presentations as required.
  • Contribute to weekly 'Pipeline & Estimating Review' meetings, providing updates to the pre-construction team.
  • Review client ITT documents and offer strategic insights during 'Tender Launch' meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver a detailed pricing appraisal at 'Tender Adjudication' meetings, presenting a thorough account of pricing strategy and key project risks to inform tender submissions.
  • Foster effective communication to ensure clarity and alignment among all parties.
  • Participate in regular project review meetings to discuss ongoing progress and address challenges.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a construction estimator, quantity surveyor, or in a comparable role.
  • Familiarity with standard client pricing schedules, including percentage adjustments to published NatFed Schedules of Rates (SOR), bespoke SORs, lump sum pricing, basket rates, and archetype rates.
  • Knowledge of occupied refurbishment processes.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in IT, with a solid understanding of MS Office applications and specialized job management software.
