Blaymires Recruitment Limited is representing a respected building contractor based near Basingstoke who is searching for an experienced Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team.

The company has built a reputation for delivering high-class refurbishment, new build, and renovations of some of the finest properties in the South of England. As an Estimator, you will have the opportunity to work on interesting and varied projects, collaborating with a talented team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the estimating process, following a robust estimating procedure, including managing all enquiries to sub-contractors, choosing applicable sub-contractors, and communicating other bid requirements to members of the bid team.
  • Lead the bid process, liaising with the architect or PQS, establishing bid requirements for submission, agreeing responsibility for bid requirements, setting up and chairing tender launch, mid-bid, and settlement meetings, and liaising with the marketing department to ensure the bid is submitted to company standards, on time.
  • Complete quantity take-offs as required and compile schedules of quantities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
