Position Overview

This position seeks a seasoned tax expert to assist the Direct Tax division in overseeing Visa's UK and European operations. The incumbent will be accountable for the daily direct tax compliance functions for a selection of companies within the Visa Group across the UK and continental Europe, collaborating with these entities and aiding senior tax team members with various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance and Reporting:
    Participate in the formulation of US GAAP quarterly tax forecasts for the corporate group, engaging with stakeholders from Visa Global Tax, European Treasury, and European Controllership.
  • Prepare and review tax calculations and disclosures for IFRS financial statements for significant Visa Europe entities, including assisting in responses to external auditors.
  • Coordinate with Controllership to comprehend any accounting modifications and their effects on reporting, deferred taxes, and cash disbursements.
  • Generate tax forecasts and computations for corporate tax obligations.
  • Collaborate with our external service provider to prepare and assess Corporate Income Tax computations and submissions for UK and European entities.
  • Prepare journal entries related to current and deferred tax.
  • Conduct quarterly reconciliations for tax balance sheet items.
  • Execute Controlled Foreign Company analysis and Corporate Interest Restriction calculations.
  • Contribute to the organization's Senior Accounting Officer program by maintaining and updating process documentation and participating in the annual review.

Advisory Role:
Manage ad hoc tax inquiries and requests from the business, complete withholding tax forms, and requests for certificates of residence from tax authorities. Foster relationships with local tax compliance providers and assist in developing tax authority connections.

Expectations:
Provide appropriate training and guidance to the business, work under tight deadlines, and demonstrate flexibility in addressing emerging issues. Strive towards a top-tier tax team while adhering to Visa's leadership principles. Build credibility with stakeholders and influence partners across the organization to support business priorities.

Qualifications:
• CTA or ACA qualified
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in practice, with some in-house exposure preferred, focusing on UK reporting, direct tax compliance, and advisory projects
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities
• Proficient in managing relationships with various stakeholders across the business
• Uphold high ethical and quality standards.
