The Nutrition and Dietetics team at NELFT is pleased to present an opportunity for a Band 5 Community Nutrition Specialist to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
Nutritional Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and interventions for adults in the community, collaborating with the established Nutrition and Dietetics team. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage with dietitians and various healthcare professionals to enhance nutritional support for patients across the service areas. Patient-Focused Care: Exhibit empathy, professionalism, and respect while interacting with patients, providing guidance in a supportive manner. Professional Growth: Show a commitment to ongoing professional development and training opportunities. Effective Communication and Organization: Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills to manage tasks and interactions with patients, caregivers, and healthcare colleagues efficiently. Mentorship and Training: Participate in the training of students and contribute to the development of team members. Adaptability: Be prepared to travel as necessary to meet job requirements, covering multiple service areas.About NELFT
Induction Process

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications:
BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent qualification. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience in community, acute, or outpatient settings. Evidence of continuous professional development activities. Membership in the British Dietetic Association (BDA).Essential Experience:
Experience in community, acute, or outpatient settings. Proven track record in managing a variety of clinical conditions. Experience with enteral feeding and nutritional support. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Capability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong time management and prioritization skills.Knowledge and Skills

Understanding of NHS priorities and clinical governance. Familiarity with quality assurance processes. Evidence of relevant continuous professional development in community dietetics.Essential Skills:
