About the Role

Mears is seeking a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team. As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out gas servicing and repairs, as well as breakdowns and emergencies within the NHS buildings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform gas safety checks and gas network tests to TPCP1 & 1A.
  • Compile assets lists and condition reports.
  • Prepare quotes for extra works.
  • Test equipment and appliances to ensure they function and meet safety standards.
  • Repair and address issues using problem-solving skills.
  • Assess risk and follow all safety regulations.
  • Install gas appliances when required.
  • Utilize proper materials to ensure job completion.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Requirements

  • Commercial gas qualified with a minimum of 2 years' experience or a proven track record.
  • ACS certification for gas works CCN1 CENWAT CODNCO1 CDGA1 CIGA1.
  • City and guilds or gas service engineer standards.
  • Experience working as a gas engineer.
  • Knowledge and understanding of gas health and safety.
  • Experience working within a commercial setting to FSG20 & BSRIA 50.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of working in a critical NHS setting is beneficial but not essential.
  • DBS checked.
  • Clean driving license.
